Lockyer Valley Digital Hub
The Lockyer Valley region has been awarded a grant to construct and develop a Digital Hub within the Gatton Library located at the Cultural Centre. As part of the Federal Government’s Digital Hub program, the Lockyer Valley Digital Hub will provide a central location in which members of the community can engage in an interactive National Broadband Network (NBN) experience. A number of technologies will be showcased however the main focus will be on the benefits the National Broadband Network (NBN) has to offer. As part of understanding the benefits of the NBN the Digital Hub will offer community-based training and assistance. The types of training that the community can experience will be computer basics, basic online activities such as setting up and using email, using the internet, keeping safe online, understanding ‘social media’, connecting with family, and more.

Living Books
A “Living Book” isn’t your average book that fits in a library bag, but rather a personal one-on-one experience with community members who have an extraordinary story to tell. The duration of a Living Book session is two hours and individual books can be borrowed for up to 25 minutes. Sessions will be held at local libraries and other venues in the Lockyer Valley. Mobile Library
Our mobile library visits several destinations throughout the region including Plainland, Helidon, Murphy’s Creek, Stockyard Creek, Withcott, Mt Sylvia, Mt Whitestone, Ma Ma Creek and Tenthill Lower areas once a fortnight.
