New boundries for Fire Ant Restriction Area
The Fire Ant Restricted Area is in place to control the spread of fire ants through the movement of goods such as soil, mulch, hay and pot plants.

Draft Rehabilitation Plan
As part of negotiations with the Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM), Council has agreed to rehabilitate Volunteer Island to provide habitat for native and avian fauna. As a result, a draft rehabilitation plan has been prepared.
Council appreciates any feedback from the residents of the Lockyer Valley and considers public consultation as critical to the success of any future rehabilitation of Volunteer Island.
