Youth Week 2025

Queensland Youth Week (QYW) is an annual celebration that shines a spotlight on the talents, achievements, and contributions of young people to their communities, our state, and beyond. QYW 2025 runs from Sunday, 6 April to Saturday, 12 April.

Council's Engagement Team will run three events across the week centred around Arts and Culture, Sport, and Social, aimed at young people aged 12-17 years. Please see below for more details and how to participate.

  • Venue: Park next to the Laidley Library
  • What's on offer: Live music from Rebecca Lee Nye, a grazing station, games, and a great opportunity to socialise with your mates!

  • Date: Wednesday, 9 April
  • Time: 2pm-5pm
  • Venue: Gatton Skate Park

Come shoot, skate, and play—no teams, no pressure, just fun!

Celebrate the new half basketball court coming to Lake Apex, and hang out with the team from Toowoomba Basketball! As well as all things basketball, we'll have our inflatable soccer field set up, or test your skills on the skatepark.

Join local artist, AJ Gogas Creative for a free art workshop entitled "Geometric Abstract Portraits".

Create your own portrait inspired by Paul Klee’s Famous Senecio. Focusing on bright colours and geometric shapes this light hearted technique explores fundamental line types and engages our whimsical expression.
