BIOGRAPHY
Cr Chris Wilson is serving his first term as Deputy Mayor after being elected by his fellow Councillors at the first post-election Council Meeting on 5 April 2024. He was first elected to Council in 2016.
A passionate local, Cr Wilson was born and raised in the Lockyer Valley and resides in his hometown of Laidley with his wife Bianca and their two young sons.
Cr Wilson believes in protecting the Lockyer Valley’s vibrant rural lifestyle while embracing its unique location between several major cities. He is excited for the future of the region and wants to be part of a progressive Council which keep things moving and ensures the region continues to thrive.
Outside of Council, Cr Wilson is an accountant and has several local business interests that keep him abreast of emerging local issues. In his downtime, he loves keeping active and still plays cricket and the odd game of golf or touch football.
