Nominations for Lockyer Valley Business, Training and Apprenticeship Awards opening soon
Lockyer Valley Regional Council is calling on businesses and organisations throughout the region to consider nominating for this year's Lockyer Valley Business, Training and Apprenticeship Awards, ahead of the 1 August opening date.
The event, to be hosted again by Lockyer Valley Regional Council, will comprise 13 categories, including the always-popular Heritage Bank People's Choice Award.
Council's Mayor Tanya Milligan said the awards were an opportunity to celebrate business successes in the Lockyer Valley over the past 12 months.
Improved customer service and increased staff motivation and morale are just some of the benefits local businesses have experienced from entering the Lockyer Valley Business, Training and Apprenticeship Awards.
Local businesses are leading in excellence and innovation and these awards provide an avenue to recognise and reward the enormous talent that is the Lockyer Valley business region.
I would encourage anyone who is contemplating placing a nomination, be it for their business or an employee, to embrace the opportunity and do just that, Mayor Milligan said.

3. Food and Dining
4. Professional, Health and Fitness Services
5. Retail
6. Trade Services
7. Agriculture and Horticulture Production and Processing
8. Home Based Business
9. Environmental and Sustainable
Individual categories:
1. Trainee of the Year
2. Apprentice of the Year
3. Young Supervisor/Manager of the Year
4. Employee of the Year
Download a nomination kit from Council's website, www.lockyervalley.qld.gov.au, or collect a hard copy version from Council's office in either Gatton or Laidley.
Nominations close on 1 September, so don't miss out on this opportunity.
The 2017 Lockyer Valley Business, Training and Apprenticeship Awards Gala Presentation Dinner will be held on Saturday 21 October.
