Meet councillors, staff at local shows
Elected councillors and Council staff are enjoying the opportunity to continue conversations with residents at this year's regional shows.
The Laidley Show, held last weekend, gave ratepayers a chance to learn more about Council's services, as will the Gatton Show when it's held on 20 - 22 July.
Council's Mayor Tanya Milligan said staff and councillors had enjoyed the chance to interact with locals, as they did at last year's local shows.
Council's team is there to discuss everything from art projects to zebra crossings and from recycling to road conditions and they will genuinely listen to residents' concerns and ideas, Mayor Milligan said.
Not only will they provide responses to some of the frequently asked questions, but the feedback they get from the community will be used to align ongoing decision-making with community aspirations.
I encourage community members to come along and have open and respectful conversations with our team as we all work together to make our region great, Mayor Milligan said.
Council's stand will be located inside the main pavilion at the Gatton Show.
Mayor Milligan congratulated both the Laidley and Gatton Show Societies for their commitment in delivering outstanding events for their local communities.
On behalf of Council I congratulate everyone who has given their time and energy to ensure our regional shows continue to grow, she said.
