Where is Locky
His work on that project is now complete, but he feels so much at home here in the region he has decided to stay on and share his adventures on social media, she said.
The Instagram campaign encourages community and visitor involvement through sharing photos taken in the Lockyer Valley and Council wants everyone to get snapping.
Instagram is a powerful tool thanks to its visual nature, which works perfectly for sharing the beauty and attractions of the region.
We want people to not only appreciate our images but also take their own pictures in the Lockyer Valley and post them to Instagram.
They can be as creative as they like, incorporating props provided or props they bring along to a specific site, Mayor Milligan said.
Locky's adventures are being captured via his Instagram page visitlikelocky, with the unique hashtags of #whereislocky as well as #luvyalockyer and #lockyervalley.
The campaign will generate a collection of unique local imagery, which will be reused for tourism promotion and marketing by Council, the Local Tourism Association and local operators.
The campaign offers regular prizes to encourage others to visit the same places and share their photos of the visit, with the intent of creating a fun way to engage and encourage others to share online photos taken in the Lockyer Valley, Mayor Milligan said.
Locky's adventures were launched at the Brisbane Ekka last month, where he was photographed on the Fergy tractor at the Lockyer Valley's stand in the Agricultural Pavilion. Part of his spring campaign will involve visits to the Laidley Spring Festival as well as the Big Band at Spring Bluff event. In October, his travels will take a food focus, with Locky likely to pop up at Miguel's Cooking School and the Murphys Creek Chilli Festival.
