Submit flood photos, videos to complete the picture
Do you have any photos, videos or other relevant information from the severe weather events that took place across the region in February or March?
If so, we need your help! Council is currently collecting and collating a range of information on local flood impacts to ‘ground truth’ our understanding of flood events.
If you have flood photos, videos or other relevant information from the event, Council is asking the community to consider uploading them to our online portal at https://dev.macrogis.com.au/survey/index.html, or follow the link on Council’s website.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said all submissions would greatly assist Council in implementing strategies to reduce the impacts of future flood events.
"I'd like to thank everyone who has contributed so far, as seeing first-hand how this weather event impacted you and your property is what this is all about.
“This is all about protecting our communities, properties and the environment but we need our residents to be involved in this process.
“Behind-the-scenes, we’re in the process of finalising a significant project that is set to provide new flood modelling for the region.
“The new flood modelling will be region-wide and is set to provide updated data for individual properties that have been included in the modelling.
“Upon completion of the flood modelling project, a Flood Information Portal will be available to the community on Council’s website, which will enable the community to search for flood information on properties in the region at no cost,” Mayor Milligan said.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council’s Flood Information Portal is expected to be available to residents next month.
