AM Nikki Boyd visits Lockyer Valley
Lockyer Valley Regional Council yesterday welcomed Assistant Minister (AM) for Local Government Nikki Boyd MP to the region.
The Assistant Minister’s visit focused on a range of issues, including the Strengthening Grantham Project, the Australian Rail Track Corporation’s alignment review and future planning of the Plainland Development.
The visit, held with Lockyer Valley Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan, CEO and Councillors, also involved a visit to the completed Stage One Fairways Park.
Mayor Milligan raised a discussion around Whites Bridge in Laidley, as well as the “Meaning to stop” intersection flood issues and levels.
“AM Boyd was also interested to hear further on the works completed to date at the Southern QLD Correctional Centre Men’s Centre and showed clear understanding of the local issues affecting our families,” she said.
Mayor Milligan expressed Council’s appreciation to Assistant Minister Boyd for taking the time to personally visit the Lockyer Valley.
“We are always honoured to welcome members of government to the Lockyer Valley and to see and hear firsthand our local issues, opportunities, and plans.
“We certainly capitalised on the opportunity to discuss a range of issues and are confident the Assistant Minister will be better able to consider our local needs.
“These are vital interactions that will greatly assist in paving the way for our region’s future and I again thank Assistant Minister Boyd for her time,” Mayor Milligan said.
