Ongoing interest in the draft Lockyer Valley Planning Scheme
Community consultation for Lockyer Valley Regional Council’s draft Planning Scheme has been met with overwhelming success!
Lockyer Valley Planning Portfolio Councillor, Rick Vela moved to thank the community for engaging with Council on this vital document.
“We are thrilled with the level of interest we have received throughout the consultation process so far.
“I really want to take the opportunity to remind the community that this consultation process is genuine - the planning scheme is still a draft and we really do want to hear and understand your concerns and ideas.
“To all residents who have already taken the time to express their ideas in the draft Lockyer Valley Planning Scheme – thank you.
“Council is already considering how some community concerns and ideas can be addressed.
“Some commonly voiced matters include the rezoning of some lots, or parts of lots as Limited Development Zone, and the ‘no further subdivision’ areas of the Rural residential zone,” Cr Vela said.
It is critical your feedback is provided through a formal submission, so even if you speak with Council officers, please also consider making a formal submission.
This week, drop-in sessions and pop-ups will continue across the region, with sessions planned for Withcott and Forest Hill on:
- Wednesday, 16 August, Withcott Shopping Centre, 11am to 1pm
- Thursday, 17 August, Forest Hill Place, 9am to 11am
