Major Community Grants initiative now open
Applications are now open for the next round of Council’s Major Community Grants initiative – with not-for-profit community organisations across the region encouraged to apply.
Council's Major Community Grants Program awards successful applicants with non-recurrent grants of between $1000 and $4000.
Lockyer Valley Deputy Mayor, Cr Jason Cook encouraged eligible community groups and organisations to submit an application.
“This program brings about tangible impacts to our community and provides vital assistance to many organisations across the region.
“These projects contribute to the vibrancy of our Lockyer Valley community, with most initiated and managed primarily by volunteers.
“The grants are tailor-made for our community, with the allocated money designed to support our local organisations to purchase new equipment, or hold an event or activity that benefits the wider community.
“This money can go a long way, and I encourage those eligible to consider an innovative way to put the funding to good use,” Cr Cook said.
