Community input needed for naming of Ropehill Community Sports Centre
Oval Two at the Ropehill Community Sports Centre needs a name – and Lockyer Valley Regional Council wants your help!
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Deputy Mayor and Sport and Recreation Portfolio Councillor, Jason Cook said Council approved the request to re-name Oval 1 at the Ropehill Community Sports Centre and take Oval 2 to public consultation at the June Ordinary Meeting.
“Council resolved to formalise the historical name of Oval 1 at the Ropehill Community Sports Centre as the “Bert and Lil Peach Memorial Oval,” as requested by the Committee.
“It was also decided public consultation would commence for merit-based nominations for the naming of Oval 2.
“Submissions close on 3 September and can be made at https://forms.office.com/r/a2FNmVNNAi, while paper copies will also be available at Council’s Gatton and Laidley offices,” Cr Cook said.
A corflute with a QR code will also be located at Oval 2 throughout the engagement period.
All nominations will be considered based on the eligibility contained within the nomination process, with Council’s final decision to be based on merit.
