Major Community Grants initiative to open soon
Lockyer Valley Regional Council will soon open applications for Round 2 of its Major Community Grants Program for 2024-25.
Council’s Major Community Grants Program is for non-recurrent grants of between $1000 and $4000 and is available for not-for-profit community organisations to undertake projects, activities or events which benefit the wider community.
The initiative is designed to throw support behind our community organisations to deliver activities, events or one-off projects that enhance the liveability, health and well-being of the Lockyer Valley community.
Lockyer Valley Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan encouraged residents to think outside the square and consider unique and meaningful ways to put this funding to good use.
“We have so many wonderful community and sporting groups in the Lockyer Valley and our grants program is tailor-made to see these groups prosper.
“The money is allocated each round so that Council can support our local groups to put on an event, run a program or purchase something which will benefit the wider community,” Mayor Milligan said.
A total of 14 not-for-profit community organisations were awarded grants for a variety of different projects in the last round of funding, with successful applicants including:
