Weekly News Briefs - 26 March 2025
Road repairs following TC Alfred
The extensive flooding from Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred has caused considerable damage to the region’s road network.
Road inspections are already underway, and Council continues to prioritise repairs following a set process. Council’s first priority is restoring critical and immediate community access needs before moving onto resolving unstable road conditions that pose risks to public safety. After these issues are addressed, we will focus on general maintenance and restoration of the broader road network.
We thank the community for alerting us to road and infrastructure damage. Given the high volume of customer requests we are fielding, we may be unable to provide individual responses to all requests, but rest assured, EVERY request lodged will be reviewed, prioritised and actioned accordingly.
Your continued patience is appreciated and we ask residents to refrain from lodging follow-up requests about the same issue.
For your safety, please drive to conditions.
