Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor and Tourism and Events Portfolio Chair, Councillor Tanya Milligan said this year's theme provided entrants the opportunity to showcase what's unique and beautiful about Australia.
Australia is home to more than 140 species of marsupials and at least 25,000 species of plants, Mayor Milligan said.
The Australian Flora and Fauna theme will incorporate everything from kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, wombats and the famous Tasmanian Devil to our stunning native flowers, like grevilleas, wattle and eucalyptus.
Street parade entries open on 1 July and I would encourage community groups and businesses to put forward an entry.
Behind the scenes, planning is well underway for this year's event and I can assure you, it will be bigger and better than ever, Mayor Milligan said.
The 2019 Laidley Spring Festival will be held from Thursday 12 to Saturday 14 September, 2019.
