Celebrate Christmas 2020 and light up the Lockyer Valley
The festive season is nearly here again and despite the trials and tribulations of 2020, there is still reason to celebrate.
Entries in this year's Spirit of the Lockyer Valley Christmas Lights and Decoration Competition will open on 1 November 2020 and Lockyer Valley Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan encouraged nominations for this meaningful community competition.
"Decorating your home or business is a wonderful way to get into the spirit of the season and it really brings the community together.
"The pandemic has certainly changed the course of the year and brought with it struggles for so many of our residents.
"We hope that by continuing this Christmas tradition in 2020, it will allow our residents a reason to smile and bring a sense of Christmas joy to our community.
"Last year's displays were outstanding, and I would certainly encourage residents to get in the spirit and embrace the festive season," Mayor Milligan said.
The categories open this year include:
Best Nativity Scene
Best Decorated Home
Best Decorated or Lit Business (Indoor/Window)
Best Community Group
