CEO retirement announcement

Acting Mayor of Lockyer Valley Regional Council Tanya Milligan has praised CEO Ian Flint on the announcement of his retirement from local government.

Mr Flint made the announcement at today's meeting of Council that he would retire after more than 40 years of service in local government on May 27 this year.

I commend Ian on his long and distinguished career and, in particular, the past six years with Lockyer Valley Regional Council and the way in which he has led the organisation during that time, Cr Milligan said.

Ian has been a pillar of strength for the organisation and has overseen and implemented a number of improvements that will be of great benefit to the Lockyer Valley community in years to come.

Today's announcement has given Council timely notice so that the process for recruitment of a new CEO may start immediately to enable an appointment to be made by the newly elected Council as soon as possible after its term of office commences, following the conclusion of the postponed election via full postal ballot scheduled for April 16.
