Chair appointed for RADF Committee
Lockyer Valley Regional Council has appointed a Chairperson to the Regional Arts Development Fund Committee and adopted a new Terms of Reference for the Committee.
Community Services Portfolio Councillor Michael Hagan will take on the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) Committee Chairperson role for another term.
Cr Hagan said the arts were integral to the quality of life and wellbeing of the region's residents and he was excited to continue his work in the area to further develop opportunities for Lockyer Valley artists and performers.
"The RADF Committee provides advice and assistance to Council on the delivery of the RADF program in the Lockyer Valley Region," he said.
"The key responsibilities of the Committee are to assess RADF applications in a fair manner, ensure funding is allocated in line with the RADF key performance outcomes and to participate in RADF bidding and reporting cycles.
"These Terms of Reference will provide clear guidance and expectations which supports strong governance, transparency and management of the RADF program."
Cr Janice Holstein was appointed as the Councillor Representative for the committee.
The process for inviting nominations for community representatives on the committee will commence shortly.
Last year through the RADF program, Council provided $15,000 in grants to local arts projects.
The RADF Grant program is a partnership between the Palaszczuk State Government and Lockyer Valley Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
