Councillor Portfolios announced
LOCKYER Valley Regional Councillors have been assigned new portfolios at last week's Ordinary Meeting of Council.
Lockyer Valley Mayor Tanya Milligan will front a new Civic Leadership/Regional Development portfolio to focus on Communication, Intergovernmental and Media Relations, Development and Engagement.
Deputy Mayor Cr Jason Cook will head the Recreation/Amenity and Facilities Portfolio, while Finance and Technology will be the focus for Cr Chris Wilson.
Cr Janice Holstein will return to the Infrastructure Portfolio, while Cr Kathy McLean will retain the chair of the Planning Portfolio.
Cr Jim McDonald maintains the chair of the Environmental Portfolio and Cr Michael Hagan will head the Community Development Portfolio.
Councillor responsibilities:
- Mayor Cr Milligan: Communication, Promotion and Advocacy; Intergovernmental and Media Relations; Economic Development; Agribusiness; Tourism and Events; Community Engagement and Disaster Management.
- Deputy Mayor Cr Cook: Sport and Recreation; Community Facilities; Health and Waste Management; Animal Management.
- Cr Wilson: Business Systems and Processes; Corporate Plans and Performance; Finance; Information, Communication and Technology (ICT).
- Cr Holstein: Roads and Drainage; Parks and Gardens; Transport and Active Transport; Asset Management; Disaster Management.
- Cr McDonald: Environmental Management; Weed/Pest Management; Waterways; Natural Resource Management.
- Cr McLean: Planning and Building Services; Planning Scheme; Townships and Villages, Cultural Heritage and Streetscape; Regional Planning.
- Cr Hagan: Arts and Culture; Youth and Disability/Multicultural; Public Safety; Customer Service; Community Services.
I am confident each Councillor will exceed in their allotted Portfolios, while the returning Councillors will also utilise the experience they have gained in their previous term, Cr Milligan said.
