Drought Declaration
The Queensland Drought Situation was reviewed by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries on 17 May 2018, adding Lockyer Valley to the map totalling 23 councils and 4 part council areas that are now drought declared.
These declarations represent 57.4% of the land area of Queensland. There are also 80 individual drought-declared properties in a further 11 local government areas.
Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries, Mark Furner has included Lockyer Valley in the most recent review of Queensland's drought conditions.
