Electrical upgrade for local carpark
Electrical upgrade works are now underway at the Lockyer Valley Sports and Aquatic Centre carpark.
The Gatton Show Society has received funding from the Australian Government's Regional Agricultural Show Development Grants Program to undertake electrical works on the carpark.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Community Facilities Portfolio Councillor, Jason Cook said Council would also contribute funding to the upgrade.
Council will continue to work closely with the Gatton Show Society to deliver this upgrade.
We thank the Australian Government for this funding injection, which will see several improvements to this much-loved facility, Cr Cook said.
The electrical upgrade works will include:
Installation of electrical distribution pillars to the carpark;
New trafficable pit installed in the carpark;
New lighting poles to the carpark (Show wood chop area);
New property pole; and
New lighting poles and power outlets to the northern side of the Arena Show Ring.
Minor interruptions to the carpark area are expected while the trafficable pit, distribution pillars and light poles are installed.
The project is now underway and is expected to be complete by the end of the month, weather permitting. Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks everyone for their patience and understanding while these works are carried out.
This Project is funded by the Australian Government's Agricultural Show Development Grants Program.
