The Lockyer Valley's Food Ambassador is coming back to Gatton next month and he wants to spend an evening under the stars - with you.
Hosted by Lockyer Valley Regional Council and presented by Lockyer Valley Food Ambassador Alastair McLeod, An Evening under the Stars promises to be an event not to be missed.
From grazing table nibbles to shared table dining under big-sky stars and twinkling lights, guests will enjoy a relaxed evening interspersed with the energy and antics of the celebrity chef.
Lockyer Valley Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said Council was putting the call-out to food enthusiasts to share in this rare opportunity.
An Evening under the Stars promises to deliver the freshest paddock-to-plate menu abundant with slow-cooked meats, seasonal Lockyer vegetables and mouth-watering desserts.
We are thrilled to welcome on board some of our world-class Lockyer Valley producers such as Stanbroke Beef, Mulgowie Farms, Rugby Farms, Windolf Farms, Reck Farms, Schulte's, along with boutique producers of cheese, honey and herbs.
Showcasing our outstanding local producers is something Council is passionate about and we are thrilled to once again offer a platform where they can continue to shine, Mayor Milligan said.
For Alastair, knowing where your produce comes from is a soulful experience.
If you know the provenance, then there's every likelihood you will know the provider.
For me, that intimacy comes with a duty to produce food free from fuss, frippery or fad, Alastair said.
Alastair will host meet the producer segments throughout the evening and participants will also enjoy a quick lesson in the art of barbecue and slow cooking.
An Evening Under the Stars with Alastair will be held on Saturday 25 May from 5.30pm - 9.30pm.
Tickets are $65pp (including a welcome drink) and are on sale now through Eventbrite. The evening is fully licensed.
