Exhibition makes first stop at Lockyer Valley Art Gallery
Physical Video' exhibition tour on show in the Lockyer Valley
Lockyer Valley Art Gallery audiences have an opportunity to experience key video works from the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) Collection, when the exhibition tours from 4 July - 12 August 2018.
Physical Video' tours extensively across the Queensland region through until May 2020 and is in the region for a five-week period.
Arts and Culture Portfolio Councillor Michael Hagan said the exhibition featured video art from the QAGOMA's collection.
Each work engages the human body and shows how artists use physical gestures and actions to illustrate social, political and aesthetic concerns, Cr Hagan said.
Opening at the Lockyer Valley Art Gallery in Gatton, the tour will extend to regional venues including Layunyah Art Gallery in Chinchilla, and the Banana Shire Regional Art Gallery (Biloela).
The exhibition feature artists including Angela Tiatia (New Zealand/Australia),Tarryn Gill and Pilar Mata Dupont (Australia), Jun Nguyen-Hatsushiba (Japan/United States/Vietnam), Donghee Koo (South Korea), Tarryn Gill (Australia), Sriwhana Spong (New Zealand), and James Oram (New Zealand).
