Flavour to savour
The Lockyer Valley will once again take centre-stage at Queensland's premier food and wine festival, Regional Flavours.
The two-day event is an opportunity for local producers to showcase their finest flavours and for those who come along to enjoy an authentic paddock to plate experience.
The Lockyer Valley will present the Picnic Patch at Regional Flavours. Located on Little Stanley Street Lawn, Picnic Patch features decorated tables, cosy blankets and scrumptious food stalls offering the finest Lockyer Valley produce.
The region is home to some of the freshest and most unique ingredients in this country and Lockyer Valley Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said Regional Flavours was the perfect platform to promote the Lockyer Valley as a producer of diverse foods with rich flavours.
As a Council we are all about supporting our local producers and this is another way we can sell what's wonderful about the Lockyer Valley.
Regional Flavours always attracts strong crowds and I'm sure our stallholders will make the most of this opportunity to display the finest foods and produce from our region, Mayor Milligan said.
Council will also use the event to promote the region as a tourism destination, through the launch of its new Tourism Guide.
The Tourism Guide showcases the range of events held in the region throughout the year, as well as accommodation providers, tourism experiences and stunning natural landscapes including national parks, state forests and other conservation areas.
We want our city counterparts to know the Lockyer Valley is the perfect drive destination and a wonderful location to spend a day or a weekend, Mayor Milligan said.
Stallholders from the Lockyer Valley will include: Dunlop Apiaries, Bauer's Organic Farms, 9Dorf Farms, Schulte's, Emmos Fine Foods, Hidden Valley Herb Farm and Seatonfire Chilli Chocolate.
Regional Flavours is held at South Bank on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 July.
