Free Dive-in Movies these school holidays
Lockyer Valley Regional Council is helping you celebrate the summer holidays with free Dive-in Movies this month.
Come along to the Laidley Pool on Friday 13 January for the screening of Alice through the Looking Glass on the big screen.
The family-friendly movie event stars Johnny Depp, Mia Wasikowska and Anne Hathaway.
Council's Mayor Tanya Milligan encouraged families and individuals to participate in Dive-in Movies.
The summer holidays are a great opportunity for families and individuals to enjoy the warmer weather and head outside.
Council recently conducted community consultation on the types of activities residents would like to see offered in school holidays and movies were one of the most popular choices.
Swim rings will be supplied for viewing from the pool, or bring your own camp chairs or picnic blanket and sit back in comfort and watch from dry land, Mayor Milligan said.
Entry is free from 5pm onwards (normal entry fees apply before 5pm). All children under 12 must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
There's no need to eat beforehand as the canteen will be open for food purchases on the night.
The second Dive-in Movie will be strictly for 12 to 18-year-olds only for the screening of Captain America: Civil War, at the Lockyer Valley Aquatic Centre on Friday 20 January. ID will be required for this supervised, lock-in event. Those under 16 will require a parent or guardian to sign them out.
This free initiative is supported by Lockyer Valley Regional Council, Anglicare and the Lockyer Valley Aquatic Centre.
