Helicopters, helicopters!
The Westpac Surf Lifesaver Helicopter will take centre-stage at next Sunday's Emergency Services Day in Laidley.
The free event is an opportunity for Lockyer Valley residents to get up close and personal with the region's emergency service heroes.
Council's Mayor Tanya Milligan encouraged residents to come along for an informative and enjoyable day out.
There really will be something for everyone including Jaws of Life demonstrations, beer goggle buggies, a rock climbing wall and CPR awareness.
Kids can enjoy face painting and a jumping castle and watching an aerial fire-bombing demonstration from the Queensland Fire and Rescue helicopter is sure to be a highlight for all ages, Mayor Milligan said.
The Queensland Police Service will have a number of buggies available with drivers asked to navigate a small course wearing beer goggles, giving an indication of the dangers of driving while under the
influence.
Coming into storm and bushfire season, it's a timely opportunity for residents to get up-to-date with the latest information and ensure they remember the saying: Prepare. Act. Survive, Mayor Milligan said.
