Jobs board to launch in the Lockyer Valley
Businesses and community seeking employment or working to fill positions in the Lockyer Valley are set to receive a helping hand when an all-new jobs board is launched this month.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council, Ipswich City Council, the Department of Employment as well as a number of job service providers met recently to discuss major cross-regional employment priorities and how to address these.
Council is collaborating with Regional Development Australia Ipswich and West Moreton (RDAIWM) to create and launch the regional initiative that will streamline the search for vacancies and opportunities from all other sites and combine them on one easy to use portal. The initiative recognises that local jobs for local people is paramount for economic and community growth within the region.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor Tanya Milligan said Council's involvement in Ipswich West Moreton Jobs (IWM Jobs) was good news for the region.
Ipswich West Moreton Jobs is all about driving local employment and, as a Council, that is something we are thrilled to be involved in.
Capturing sustainable employment opportunities for both individuals and communities as a whole are vital to the growth and overall success of any region, and as Mayor that is what I, and my fellow Councillors are committed to achieving for the Lockyer Valley.
We are thrilled to partner with Ipswich City Council to deliver on this exciting project that boosts employment opportunities for individuals and communities across the region, she said.
IWM Jobs will be officially launched on Thursday 4 August.
