Keep in shape at Lake Apex
Staying fit and healthy has become easier for Lockyer Valley residents with the installation of new exercise equipment at Lake Apex.
As part of a series of improvements to the facility, Mayor Steve Jones, said the new exercise equipment was now located in a more user-friendly location.
We held discussions with the key stakeholders of the facility and collectively decided the best location for the equipment was on the eastern side, away from the bird hide, Mayor Jones said.
Since the equipment was installed there has been people using the new equipment every day which has been quite pleasing.
As well as installing exercise equipment Mayor Jones said work was ongoing to improve the overall look and feel of Lake Apex.
It is one of the most popular facilities in the region and that is why we are looking at ways we can make improvements, he said.
Recently we installed bollards along the pathway to improve the safety of the general public by reducing vehicular access.
Other work taking place includes maintenance on the bird hide, installation of a new pedal car for the monorail and extra seating along the pathway.
We understand parks and gardens are important to residents throughout the community and we will continue to review all of our facilities and look at areas we can make further improvements.
