Laidley Spring Festival kicks off today
TODAY marks the start of the annual 2015 Laidley Spring Festival.
The beauty of Laidley will be on show over the three-day festival as thousands gather to mark the new season.
Celebrations will kick off today with the Garden and Flowers Show, as well as the Spring Orchid Show, Artists Exhibition, Quilt and Craft Expo and church displays officially opening to the public. Other must-see events on Saturday include Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live stage show and creative centre; QN Hotel Show and Shine; the Street Parade from 1pm and roving entertainment, music, face painting and an animal farm.
Das Neumann Haus featuring Annie's Place Coffee Shoppe will offer a special pancake menu, markets and music during the festival.
In an exciting first, this year Neilsen's Place, the former library building, will play host to an Artisan's pop-up gallery for the duration of the festival.
The Laidley Better Business will also hold the Make it, Bake it, Grow it Markets from 8.30am-1pm on Saturday.
Council's Mayor Steve Jones said the weather forecast couldn't look better.
Today has a forecast top of 23 degrees, tomorrow 21 degrees and Saturday a top of 24 degrees.
Come along and enjoy the perfect spring conditions and this fabulous community event, Cr Jones said.
A free shuttle bus will run between the main venues during the three days, departing Laidley Cultural Centre every 25 minutes.
