Laidley United Realty takes Grand Champion title
Laidley United Realty took out the title of Grand Champion Float at Saturday's Laidley Spring Festival Grand Parade.
Despite the temperamental spring weather, strong crowds gathered to enjoy the parade, which wrapped up three days of festivities.
Council's Mayor Tanya Milligan said she was astounded by Laidley's community spirit.
The community wasn't going to let a little spring rain dampen their spirits.
Parade entrants were committed to seeing the finale go ahead and they did so with exactly the same amount of excitement and happiness.
I was beyond proud to be Mayor of the Lockyer Valley, Mayor Milligan said.
As expected, Shaun the Sheep's live stage show was a hit with the youngsters, while residents and visitors alike visited the stunning gardens on display and enjoyed the number of activities and entertainment on offer throughout the event.
This year's floats were some of the best we have seen. The time and effort parade entrants commit to floats and costumes is something they should all be congratulated on, Mayor Milligan said.
