Planning is well underway for this year's Lockyer Valley Heritage Festival. Following a hiatus due to COVID-19 in 2020, the event is back in 2021.
Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to celebrate the heritage of the region on Saturday 17 April 2021, with a host of activities on throughout the day.
Das Neumann Haus
Entry is free from 9am to 3pm. Experience the German heritage, delicious homemade treats from Annie's Place Coffee Shoppe, musical entertainment by Vintage Gold, markets and free entry to the house museum.
Laidley Pioneer Village & Museum
Located on the corner of Drayton and Pioneer Streets, Laidley. Activities and entertainment will be held from 8.30am - 2.30pm and entry is by donation. There will be a Big Brekky plus all day menu, local musicians, small engines, woodworking and Blacksmith displays, vintage cars and farm machinery, children's activities, fossicking area for kids and the Lockyer Valley Highland dancers.
Bush poet and entertainer, Marco Gliori will feature at the event from 10.30am. A full-time entertainer, Marco is renowned for his humorous poetry and anecdotes, depicting contemporary Australia yet delivered with a unique and distinct country flavour.
Lockyer Valley Mayor, Councillor Tanya Milligan encouraged residents of all ages to attend.
The Laidley Heritage Weekend is a fitting celebration of the region's heritage and I can guarantee there will be plenty on offer for all ages.
Mother Nature will hopefully provide a stunning autumn weekend so come along - we hope to see you there, Mayor Milligan said.
