LVRC scoops Gold Award at Sydney Royal Easter Show
Showgoers were not the only ones impressed with the Lockyer Valley Regional Council's display at this year's Sydney Royal Easter Show, with judges presenting the stand with the prestigious Gold Award for best display in the Home, Garden and Lifestyle Pavilion.
Acting Mayor Tanya Milligan said she was delighted with the outcome and applauded the dedication shown by staff and participating local producers and volunteers.
Council's involvement at the Sydney Royal Easter Show and the special promotion in Martin Place was a partnership with our farmers and food producers, aimed at teaching Sydneysiders where their fresh produce is grown and the tourism attractions on offer in our beautiful region, Cr Milligan said.
The stand, which showcased the Lockyer Valley's freshest produce and the restored Bedford truck, featured a range of brochures and giveaways that attracted showgoers to view the variety of activities that the Lockyer Valley has to offer.
Located in a prime position in the Home, Garden and Lifestyle Pavilion next door to the Woolworths Fresh Food Dome, the stand also provided the opportunity for visitors to chat with locals and boutique producers about the region, Cr Milligan said.
I'm proud to say that the Lockyer Valley display has brought home awards all three years that we have participated, with the Gold Award in 2014 followed by the Silver Award in 2015 and now the Gold again in 2016.
The Lockyer Valley display winning the Gold Award is a true testament to the hard work contributed by all involved in this fantastic promotional event.
