New-look Flowers and Orchid Show sure to draw crowds
Spring is almost here and so is the 2016 Laidley Spring Festival.
From Thursday 8 - Saturday 10 September, the Lockyer Valley will be in full bloom and ready to celebrate the beauty that is spring.
The Laidley Cultural Centre is just one of the many locations that will be a centre of activity over the three-day event.
This year it will play host to the Flowers and Orchid Show. For the first year, the Laidley Garden Club, together with the Lockyer Valley Orchid Society have partnered, bringing the annual Flowers and Garden Show and the Orchid Show together as the Flowers and Orchid Show.
We are Australian is this year's theme and for only $5 entry, you can meander through the centre and attend both shows, as well as browse the many stalls on offer.
Council's Mayor Tanya Milligan said the Flowers and Orchid Show would be well worth a visit.
This year's Flowers and Orchid Show will have the State Emblems, Coat of Arms, Uluru and the Australian Land of Contrast on display.
With morning and afternoon tea available as well as plants for sale and raffles, it's shaping up to be a wonderful event, she said.
If you want to learn more about all things flowers, there will also be workshops to allow residents to hone their skills on specific varieties of flora.
