Successful RADF recipients announced
A diverse and exciting range of creative arts and cultural projects will soon benefit from funding available through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF).
RADF, a partnership between Lockyer Valley Regional Council and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland, has just awarded more than $20,000 in funding from the latest round of RADF submissions.
Arts and Culture Portfolio Councillor Michael Hagan said the funding would provide some engaging and exciting opportunities for the community.
"We congratulate the successful recipients of the RADF funding and look forward to their projects enhancing the Lockyer Valley community," Cr Hagan said.
The successful projects include:
- Emma McLucas - to provide youth workshops and create two mural pieces in conjunction with Lockyer District High School.
- Lockyer Valley Dance Centre - to hire guest choreographers to choreograph original pieces for the students to perform.
- Jasmine Leung and Timothy Green - to run a three-day music workshop for children aged 8-12, concluding with a public performance and a professional recording made available for CD.
- Spirit of the Valley Events Inc. - to run a four-month series of workshops teaching Aboriginal Art, dance and language.
The Queensland Government, through Arts Queensland, is contributing $2.08 million to the 2017-18 RADF partnership across 59 councils state-wide.
