Time to get creative

The theme for the 2018 Laidley Spring Festival parade is Songs of Yesteryear'.

Lockyer Valley Mayor Tanya Milligan said the theme was open to interpretation.

Songs of Yesteryear can celebrate everything from our strong agricultural presence through to our stunning scenery or the historical drives that are dotted across the region.

Street parade entries open on 1 July and I would encourage community groups and businesses to put forward an entry.

Each year we are seeing floats getting bigger and better than ever, so I am sure this year will be no exception.

If you haven't already, please mark the dates for this year's festival, 6 to 8 September, in your diary now, Mayor Milligan said.
