Whites Road, Laidley set for upgrade
Lockyer Valley Regional Council has begun upgrade works on Whites Road in Laidley, from Patrick Street into the Laidley Recreational Reserve.
Lockyer Valley Infrastructure Portfolio Councillor Janice Holstein said the works would involve widening the existing road formation and drainage works to improve safety and facilitate additional carparking at the Laidley Recreational Reserve.
The Laidley Recreational Reserve is a frequently-used facility by local sporting organisations across the region and the wider community and these safety improvements and additional carparks will be a welcomed add-on for users.
The Reserve is a high-traffic area during sporting seasons and these works, requested by the local sporting groups will enable the facility to better service the community, Cr Holstein said.
Whites Road will be reduced to one lane during construction work hours. For the safety of road users and onsite personnel, traffic management signage and controls will be in place
for the duration of the project.
Alternate carpark areas during the construction project are available at the back of the Laidley Sports Complex building, and in the western side of Ferrari Park.
Works will be conducted Tuesday to Friday, 7am to 4pm. Weather permitting, the upgrades are expected to take approximately five weeks. Access to the Laidley Recreational Reserve, Ferrari Park and Anzac Park will be available throughout the construction period.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents for their patience during the construction period.
