New management for Lake Dyer Caravan and Camping Grounds
Lake Dyer Caravan and Camping Grounds is under new management, after Council recently awarded the Management Agreement of the facility to a local operator.
With extensive experience in caravan and camping management under her belt, Donna Smith was awarded the official Management Agreement of the Lake Dyer Caravan and Camping Grounds.
Lockyer Valley Deputy Mayor and Community Facilities Portfolio Councillor Jason Cook welcomed Donna as the new manager of the grounds.
“Donna has proven herself over the past seven years and has worked hard to elevate the reputation of the Lake Dyer Caravan and Camping Grounds.
“Donna’s broad scope of skills in the field, together with extensive local knowledge means she will be able to continue providing the exemplary level of service we are accustomed to from this facility.
“This is a win for our community and a decision that will provide significant long-term local benefit in the ever-expanding tourism market,” Cr Cook said.
Donna, who will operate the facility together with husband Herb, said they were excited to hit the ground running.
“The Lake Dyer Caravan and Camping Grounds is embedded in the heart of the Lockyer Valley and, with so many restrictions on travel due to the lingering global pandemic, we are passionate about our reputation and putting the spotlight on the Lockyer Valley and all it has to offer.
“The appointment of this Agreement will allow us to elevate our services and expand our footprint and we are excited to attract more tourism opportunities for our region.
“We look forward to helping locals and visitors alike reconnect with nature and make memories that last a lifetime,” Donna said.
The two-year Management Agreement comes with the option of an additional two years and officially began on 1 August 2021.
