Reminder – nominate now for Australia Day Awards!

There’s just five weeks remaining to place your nomination for the 2022 Lockyer Valley Australia Day Awards!

Nominations are now open for the 2022 Awards and will remain so until 15 November.

Lockyer Valley Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said Australia Day Awards were always a fitting way to pay tribute to members of our community who go above and beyond their obligations.

“I would encourage everyone to consider submitting a nomination if they believe they know someone who is community-minded and passionate about the Lockyer Valley.

“A lot of sports around the region are starting to wrap-up for the year, so it’s the perfect opportunity to nominate a deserving coach or sporting group.

“Throughout the year, members of the community are constantly giving back and doing their part to make the Lockyer Valley a better place, so this is our chance to both thank and congratulate them,” Mayor Milligan said.

Award categories include:

• Citizen of the Year

• Young Citizen of the Year

• Junior Sportsperson of the Year

• Senior Sportsperson of the Year

• Community Organisation of the Year

• Event of the Year
