A special exhibition for the Lockyer Valley Art Gallery
The Lockyer Valley Art Gallery will present a very special exhibition next month, highlighting the works of our youngest residents.
Little Kids BIG Art will take centre-stage at the Gallery from 4 – 27 February 2022, showcasing a selection of artwork from children attending various Lockyer Valley Child Care Centres
Lockyer Valley Community Services Portfolio Councillor Michael Hagan said the exhibition celebrates youngsters and their BIG imaginations to create works of art.
“We are pleased to house this exhibition at the Lockyer Valley Art Gallery and offer our community the opportunity to see what our younger residents have been busy creating.
“I am sure this exhibition will create great enjoyment for our community, at a time when it really is needed most,” Cr Hagan said.
Cr Hagan said the exhibition consisted of painted works, which are focused on creativity and fun.
“Visitors need to connect their imagination with the works titles to see the inspiration behind the works
“This exhibition connects with the Play theme of the Children’s literacy program First 5 Forever and inspires conversations for Talk, Read, Sing and Play. Play fosters other developmental milestones such as fine motor, social and emotional skills – all of which are vitally important,” he said.
The Little Kids BIG Art exhibition is supported by the State Library of Queensland and the Queensland Government through the First 5 Forever Program.
You can visit this exhibition seven-days at the Lockyer Valley Art Gallery, located within the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre.
