Queensland Symphony Orchestra Livestream returns to Gatton
Residents of the Lockyer Valley will have yet another opportunity to enjoy all the excitement of a night out in the city without leaving the region, when Council delivers the livestreamed performance of Four Seasons next month.
The Queensland Symphony Orchestra string section will shine in this must-see event when concertmaster Natsuko Yoshimoto leads the ensemble through two musical interpretations livestreamed from the Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s (QPAC) Concert Hall, direct to the Gatton Shire Hall on Saturday 19 March.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said Council was thrilled to bring this wonderful, cost-effective initiative back for residents to enjoy.
“We all know how expensive the cost of fuel is and when you couple that with additional costs like parking, QPAC tickets and a meal in the city, this could easily turn into an expensive night out.
“We’re making it easy for our residents – while it’s underway live at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre in Brisbane, relax in the comfort of the Gatton Shire Hall and enjoy the live broadcast on the big screen.
“At only $7.50 per person this is affordable for everyone, and you can also purchase food and drinks for this must-see event,” Mayor Milligan said.
The evening will feature Vivaldi’s timeless set of four concertos, The Four Seasons, as well as The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, written by Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla. This distinctly South American vision of the seasons is filled with the infectious rhythms of the tango and makes a striking contrast with Vivaldi’s original composition. Natsuko and the Orchestra will alternate between the two, taking audiences on an ever-shifting path through different seasons, countries and musical styles.
All patrons will be required to abide by COVID-19 regulations applicable at the time of the event.
The livestream event will be held at the Gatton Shire Hall on Saturday 19 March 2022. Doors open 6.45pm for 7.15pm seating.
BYO food/drinks are not permitted. Tickets can be pre-purchased at lockyervalleytickets.com.au/event/15315
