This Anzac Day, we will remember them
This Anzac Day, 25 April, the Lockyer Valley will pause to commemorate the men and women who have served and fought for our country, as well as those currently in active service.
April 25, 2022 marks the 107th anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War and Lockyer Valley Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan is encouraging community members to attend one of the many services to be held across the region.
“Anzac Day is a meaningful day for all Australians, and we are encouraging residents to show their respect and attend one of the many marches or services held around the Lockyer Valley.
“It is important we come together to pay our respects to those who gave their lives in conflicts around the world, as well as those men and women who are currently in active service.
“Anzac Day has become one of the most important days on our calendar.
“The Lockyer Valley should be proud of how we have marked Anzac Day in the past, with both marches and services so well attended across the region and we certainly hope to see that emulated again this year,” Mayor Milligan said.
