New Landholder Invasive Animal Control Subsidy Program
Lockyer Valley Regional Council is working with local landholders around the new Landholder Invasive Animal Control Subsidy Program.
The Program replaces the previous 1080 Wild Dog, Fox and Pig Baiting Program and Community Services and Environment Portfolio Councillor Michael Hagan said Council encouraged landholders to become familiar with the changes.
“Council remains committed to assisting landholders in the control of invasive feral pest animals on their properties and to ensure they meet their General Biosecurity Obligation under the Queensland Biosecurity Act 2014.
“The new Landholder Invasive Animal Control Subsidy Program offers a 50 per cent rebate on the GST-exclusive price of the restricted S7 Low Risk Fluroacetic Acid Baits, up to $150, which is applied as credit against the property rates.
“Landholders will now be required to apply to Queensland Health for a General Approval, prior to purchasing 1080 baits from a licensed 1080 retailer.
“An information newsletter was recently mailed to landholders who are regular baiters, which advises of the new Landholder Invasive Animal Control Subsidy Program, and we encourage them to become familiar with the new Subsidy Program and what it means for them,” Cr Hagan said.
Landholders wishing to engage a licensed Commercial Baiting Operator may also be eligible for the Subsidy.
