Council crews are working hard behind-the-scenes following the second significant rainfall event to hit the Lockyer Valley this year.
Due to last week’s weather event and the high rainfall the Lockyer Valley has experienced this year, the region's infrastructure has taken a battering.
Lockyer Valley Infrastructure Portfolio Councillor, Janice Holstein urged motorists to display extreme caution when driving.
“Council staff are working tirelessly to respond to the impact the flooding has had on our region.
“Access to some communities is yet to be re-established, with Council prioritising road access to these residents.
“Council is making every effort to respond, with crews deployed across the region cleaning up and assessing damage.
“Please be patient as there are many areas for crews to get to as the clean-up progresses and it will take some time.
“Safety is our key focus, and we encourage everyone to be patient, apply caution and obey safety signs.
“I really want to thank the community for their patience and understanding as we work hard to get our infrastructure back up and running as soon as possible,” Cr Holstein said.
