Council’s website a go-to for flood information, support

Residents in search of support options and information following the region’s recent weather events are encouraged to visit Council’s website for assistance.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said the website housed a wide range of disaster assistance and support options available for impacted residents.

“A quick click on the “Flood Assistance” tab on Council’s website home page will lead you to the list of financial and other support options that are currently available.

“For example, thanks to Lifeline Darling Downs & South West QLD Ltd, small grants are currently available for individuals, families and business operators.

“This support is tailored for individuals or families who have been impacted by the drought or flood events of the past 12 months and who require assistance with the cost-of-living pressures, ranging from $1000 to $2000.

“Non-farming small business operators, such as tradesmen or retail operators, schools and Parent & Citizen Associations may also be eligible.

“There is no doubt the rising cost of living is being felt across the board, but we thank Lifeline Darling Downs & South West QLD for offering this support for our eligible residents.

“Big or small, support is out there, and it can all make a difference.
