Major Community Grants Program
Round 1 of Lockyer Valley Regional Council’s Community Grants Program is set to open next month and Council is urging not-for-profit community organisations across the Lockyer Valley to get their applications ready.
Lockyer Valley Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said now was the perfect time for eligible organisations to start thinking about their applications for the highly beneficial program.
“This program is all about providing financial support to not-for-profit community organisations to undertake projects, activities or events which benefit the wider community, depending upon availability of funds and the merit of projects, activities or events.
“Groups in the region who have ideas on initiatives or projects that could really provide a boost to the Lockyer Valley community are encouraged to apply, and why not get a head start on your application now, ahead of the 1 September opening date,” Mayor Milligan said.
The Community Grants Program is for non-recurrent grants of between $1000 and $4000 from a total pool of $40,000. Applications are assessed on merit and the availability of funds. Grants will be awarded to applications that focus on community development, arts and cultural development, social services, recreational services and environmental initiatives.
Council awarded funding to 16 applicants from across the Lockyer Valley in the March 2022 round, including: Blenheim Public Hall Association Inc.; Continental Herding Club Inc.; Gatton & District Committee on the Ageing Inc.; Gatton Bowls Club Inc.; Gatton Kindergarten Association Inc.; Gatton Scout Group; Laidley Agricultural and Industrial Society; Laidley Kindergarten Association Inc.; Lockyer Cricket Association; Lockyer Equestrian Group Inc.; Lockyer Valley Something to Sing About Choir; Lockyer Woodcrafters Group Inc.; Toowoomba Road Runners; Withcott & District Progress Association Inc.; Withcott State School Parents and Citizens Association.
