Council supports 2022 Share the Dignity Drive
Lockyer Valley Regional Council is proud to once again support the Share the Dignity Drive and is inviting the community to do the same.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan applauded Share the Dignity for the important work they do.
“Share the Dignity is an Australian-based women’s charity that distributes female sanitary products to those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough.
“As an organisation, we will be taking donations throughout the month of August of personal care items and would like to open this up for donations from the community as well.
“Last year we were able to give out more than 300 packages, so it would be wonderful to try and better that number this year,” Mayor Milligan said.
All donated items will be provided to the Gatton Adventist Community Centre, where a dedicated team of volunteers will make care packages for those in need.
Members of the community wishing to donate can do so by placing items in the marked purple bin, located in Council’s foyer in Gatton and Laidley.
Items can include sanitary items, deodorants, toothbrushes and toothpaste and soaps and must be: sealed in original packaging; no aerosol products; no medication, no food items and no razors.
