Buy from the Bush Qld Markets new to the 2022 Laidley Spring Festival
The 2022 Laidley Spring Festival will welcome the Buy From The Bush Qld (BFTBQ) Markets to its Saturday line-up of attractions for the very first time.
Lockyer Valley Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said Council was delighted to welcome BFTBQ to the Laidley Spring Festival.
“Thanks to this new collaboration, we will deliver a large country market featuring new and creative businesses, as well as wonderful local artisans and fabulous food vendors.
“Strengthening regional events means working together, working with our neighbours, and finding smarter ways to deliver more significant events.
“It made perfect sense to work with a quality event partner like BFTBQ, who bring their large and committed audience to our region and to our event, and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!”
More than 100 exhibitors are set to converge on the Laidley Recreation Grounds, showcasing an array of giftware, clothing, art, craft, wine, linen and antiques. There will also be plenty of food vendors on-hand, ensuring there is something for all ages and tastes!
The BFTBQ initiative started in mid-2018 as a Facebook page for women doing it tough on the land.
Event founder Kerri Brennan said she was looking forward to venturing to such a “beautiful part of the world”.
“We’ve blossomed into an amazing online community of bush businesses, creatives and a broad array of family-run side hustles across the rural regions of Queensland.
“It’s more than buying a jar of jam, you’re supporting a family and let’s face it, post-pandemic, consumers now care more about what they buy and where it comes from,” she said.
While the main BFTBQ Market will be held at the Laidley Recreation Reserve on Saturday 10 September from 8am and 2pm, some stallholders will also head to Friday evening’s Twilight Feast & Fest event in Ferrari Park, between 5pm and 9pm.
