Show ‘n’ Shine your pride and joy at the Laidley Spring Festival
Motoring enthusiasts from near and far will line up to Show ‘n’ Shine their vehicles at this year’s Laidley Spring Festival.
Lockyer Valley Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan encouraged residents and visitors not to miss out on their chance to enjoy a great range of cars and bikes at the event.
“This is the perfect chance for car lovers who are keen to show off their wheels to join in the Laidley Spring Festival’s Show ‘n’ Shine on Saturday 10 September.
“Sign up now to display your pride and joy to the backdrop of a wonderful regional event in Laidley,” Mayor Milligan said.
Off the back of their successful Tractor Trek in August, members and friends of the Lockyer Antique Motor Association Inc (LAMA) will feature at the event.
LAMA President Doug Peace said the Festival offered a picturesque setting for car and bike enthusiasts.
“When you round out the Show ‘n’ Shine with a street parade, entertainment, markets and displays, you have a perfect day in a country town.
“Visitors can expect cars with interesting stories and owners too willing to share them,” he said.
All entered vehicles will be eligible for the People's Choice Award, with a prize awarded to the vehicle receiving the most votes. Vehicle access will open at 7am and will close at 7.45am, with vehicles remaining on display until 1pm.
With the CBD of Laidley a hive of Festival activity on the Saturday, Mayor Milligan is encouraging visitors to park at one of the many designated car parks and ride the free shuttle bus.
“For an easy walk to the Festival hub, St Mary’s School P&C is offering car parking for a small fee and a little further out but still part of the free shuttle bus loop, is the Laidley Cultural Centre, Showgrounds and Pioneer Village,” she said.
