Listen to a Human Book at Lockyer Valley Libraries
You’re invited to listen to a Human Book at Gatton and Laidley Libraries during the month of October.
The initiative, to be held as part of Seniors Month celebrations, will involve Lockyer Valley residents sharing their life stories, all in the comfort of the Library.
Lockyer Valley Community Services Portfolio Councillor, Michael Hagan encouraged residents to support this exciting initiative.
“We’re excited to welcome residents from a range of diverse backgrounds and have the opportunity to listen to their stories.
“The Human Books will share their stories to the group, allowing attendees and the ‘books’ to connect and create a sense of identity and belonging.
“There will also be the opportunity for attendees to ask questions of the ‘books’ to gain a better understanding of their life.
“These ‘books’ are designed to foster the spirit of social connection amongst our residents, and I look forward to coming along and listening to their stories,” Cr Hagan said.
The first event will be held at the Laidley Library on Thursday 6 October, starting at 9.30am, with the second event at the Gatton Library on Thursday 27 October, starting at 9.30am.
