Council continues to support community recovery
Lockyer Valley Regional Council will soon roll out an important initiative, designed to help the community on its road to recovery.
Using funding provided by the Queensland Government, Council will offer funding for eligible local events through the Council Catch Up series.
Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor, Cr Tanya Milligan said the region had undoubtedly experienced its fair share of weather events.
“Here in the Lockyer Valley, we know only too well just what Mother Nature is capable of.
“That’s why, as an organisation, we’re committed to advocating to help our communities continue their recovery in any way we can and are providing this funding directly to the local community.
“We’re inviting our region’s not-for-profit organisations to host a Council Catch Up, alongside their own local event, over the next 14 months.
“The Council Catch Up series is all about boosting community spirit, reconnecting locals and helping to restore people’s emotional, social and physical wellbeing,” Mayor Milligan said.
Up to $750 as a contribution towards the event’s eligible expenses is up for grabs, with those eligible urged to get their applications in now.
This initiative is funded by the Queensland Government, Mental Health and Wellbeing Community Package under Queensland’s Economic Recovery Strategy.
